Jasmine most recently directed the world premiere musical I Dream at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta. Earlier this year, she directed Brownie Points for Theatrical Outfit, The Bluest Eye at Spelman College, and For Colored Girls… at True Colors Theatre Company. As a performer, Broadway credits: Chicago, Grease, Leader of the Pack, Beehive. Film credits: Spike Lee’s School Daze, Eddie Murphy’s Harlem Nights, Klash, Guinevere, Diamond Men and October Baby. Her many TV credits include: Fame, NYPD Blue, Alex Haley’s Queen, Stompin’ at the Savoy, America’s Dream, Anne Rice’s Feast of All Saints and Showtime’s Dead Like Me. Jasmine is best known for her role as Whitley Gilbert on the NBC hit TV series A Diff’rent World, for which she won six consecutive NAACP Image Awards. Currently, Jasmine can be seen performing on The CW’s Vampire Diaries and Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva.
