Deadra Moore received a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Theatre from Agnes Scott College, then a Master of Fine Arts, magna cum laude, in Performance from the University of Georgia. She has been a professional theatre artist in the areas of acting, directing and stage management in the Southeast region since 1990. As such, she
has worked with nearly every professional producer in the city, as well as directed productions for several community and educational organizations. As an educator, Deadra has taught theatre skills to elementary and secondary school students in workshops, art center classes and summer programs such as the Northwestern University Performing Arts Institute. For two years she served as a Visiting Instructor of Theatre at Agnes Scott College. Deadra is a member of Actors’ Equity Association, Screen Actor’s Guild, and the American Federation
of Radio and Television Artists. She also serves as Vice-Chairperson on the Atlanta Liaison Committee of Actors’ Equity Association. Deadra’s involvement with The Suzi Bass Awards began with the very first organizing meeting in 2003 and has grown in scope with the organization. Appointed to the Vice-Chair position of the first Board of Directors in 2005, she was elected Chair when the organization’s founder, Gene-Gabriel Moore, retired. At the beginning of 2008, the Board hired Deadra as a part-time Executive Director. She currently serves as Executive Director, Board Member, Musical Theatre Panel Judge, and Recommending Judge for the Suzi Awards.
