Our organization relies on its Members to elect the Board of Directors and to ratify organizational changes through voting at the Annual Meeting of Members. Members "own" the Suzi Awards, and are a major voice in the policies and operations of the organization. Our members are integral to Suzi Awards planning and decision making processes. Members may serve on ad hoc committees of the Board of Directors, such as strategic planning and organizational evaluation. Everything from how we deem productions Suzi Recommended

By having a large and varied Membership, the organization is stronger and more stable. Government and corporate funders who consider supporting the awards need to see community and industry support already in place. Our Members also get the word out about the Awards, and spread excitement at a grassroots level for both the awards process and the productions that receive Suzi Recommendations, Nominations and Awards.
. . .A Budget Stabilizer
Much like a theatre's season subscriber, a strong membership core allows us to know what our budget base is each year. As a primarily volunteer organization, revenue generated from the $25 dues from each member makes up a substantial portion of our yearly operating budget. Consequently the organization must increase Membership in order to grow and stabilize!
