Mission: Fabrefaction Theatre Company provides artists, audiences, and Atlanta with a forum that fosters artistic aspirations by cultivating classic, contemporary, and new works that reignite the power of human connection. Fabrefaction empowers current and future theatre participants and patrons by creating opportunities and resources for the community.
Our Vision: To provide the best theatrical opportunities and resources for new artists, established professionals, audiences of all ages, and the community at large.
How we got here: Fabrefaction Theatre Company is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization established in Atlanta, Georgia to provide professional performance opportunities for artists of all ages. The company evolved from Summer Stage Theatre Company and its predecessors created by Christina and Evelyn Hoff in 2004.
In 2007 the Summer Stage Theatre Company expanded to include a group of dedicated theatre lovers studying theatre across the country who decided to bring their collective experiences to Atlanta by founding Fabrefaction Theatre Company. Since its inception Fabrefaction has produced over 21 shows, including 2 new works and 10 educational productions.
In May of 2010 we moved into our beautiful brand new home in Atlanta’s Westside featuring a main stage, a blackbox, and ample space for rehearsals and classes. We’re excited to share our neighborhood with some of the best restaurants and retail districts in the city. Our theatre space is designed so that each audience member is visually engaged in the production in order to create a collective audience experience. It is our goal that Fabrefaction will become a place where everyone can find a production that interests them.
What we do: It is our goal that we create a space in Atlanta where young theatre artists have the opportunity to discover their identity as a performer along with an environment where professionals can continue to cultivate their craft and expand their knowledge of the theatre.
We do this through:
Professional Series: We provide a wide range of opportunities for actors and audiences alike producing contemporary and classic musicals and plays, fostering new works, and reinventing classical texts.
Educational Series: We offer aspiring actors age 5-19 opportunities to perform and cultivate their skills through shows that are of the same performance quality as our professional productions. Performance is at the core of our curriculum-teaching throughout the rehearsal process.
TYA, or “Theatre for Young Audiences”: Theatre professionals perform works specifically geared toward children ages 3-10. TYA performances are also available for school fieldtrips and outreach programs.
The FTConservatory: The FTConservatory is a remarkable training opportunity for actors age 1st through 12th grade. The FTConservatory is specifically designed to enhance artistic abilities while achieving valuable life skills.
FTC Outreach: We love to bring the art of theatre to our community. We offer various outreach programs tailored to the needs of the audience. Our TYA performances fall under this category. We aim to further our outreach programs through performances in local schools, hospitals, and at community events.
