We've added some special categories of Suzi Awards for those productions performed by professionals and intended for a younger or family audience. These productions are usually not part of theatre's subscription season, but form a strong component of their educational programming. Generally these productions are scheduled for daytimes on school days and some weekends.
Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) has some really imaginative and creative stories being told, and we wanted to celebrate those productions. The process is a bit different for that panel:
Producers submit TYA shows that meet eligibility guidelines through the TYA Consideration Form
Each judge on the panel sees all TYA shows submitted.
At the end of the season the panel meets to discuss and determine Nominees and Winners in each of the four TYA Suzi categories (new this year!) - Production, Direction, Performance and Design
TYA Nominees are revealed at the Nomination Announcement Party
TYA winners are awarded at the Suzi Awards Ceremony the first Monday in November.
